A Clinical Insight from Helios Homoeopathy
By: Assistant Doctor to Dr Sujit Telagamasetty
When patients walk into our clinic with psoriasis, they don’t come with “just skin patches.”
They come with years of hidden pain with itching, quiet embarrassment, sleepless nights, and a feeling of disgust for one’s own body.
At Helios, guided by Dr. Sujit Telagamasetty, we go beyond “what is seen” and “what started it.”
What Really Is Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is an autoimmune inflammatory skin disease where the skin cells multiply 10–20 times faster than normal.
This leads to
Thick, dry, silvery scales
Reddish patches
Itching and burning pain
Cracks on the skin
Bleeding when scratched
But medically, it is much more than that.
It is a misdirected immune response + emotional trigger + genetic tendency.
We often see that psoriasis doesn’t begin randomly.
It begins after some form of emotional blow that turned him upside down.
Dr. Sujit always says that the body tends to express what the mind is carrying.
A 38-year-old male walked into Helios, and everything was good till he rolled up his sleeves, revealing the eruptions, and it was classical psoriasis with thick scales on the elbows, scalp, and lower legs.
He looked confident on the outside, but his story revealed something else: fatigue, worry, and silent suffering.
When we asked, “When did this start?”
He answered, “I have been suffering for 8 years.”
It reduces when I use conventional medicine and again flares up if I stop using it.
It itches more at night, and in winter, I guess it may be due to dryness.
Now comes the fascinating part, which made me hold my ground.
Dr. Sujit asked, “Did something happen around 8 to 9 years ago?” What were you going through in your life then?
Patient: 8 years ago…. He frowned, saying, “Yes, doctor, but how do you know?” He said, astonished.
I mean… That was the lowest point in my life. I was dealing with so much betrayal and financial loss, but that happened long ago. Why are you asking now?
Dr. Sujit patiently explained that psoriasis, being an autoimmune disease, not only affects the skin but also the joints, where the body’s own metabolism fails to be in control, and some form of trauma acts as a trigger for its expression.
It is a story of inflammation, immunity, emotions, and life experiences.
He exclaimed, saying I was in great distress for 10 years. It all started when I helped my friend borrow a huge amount of money from someone I know, and he betrayed me eventually, and I had to bear losses due to his debt, and that’s where it all began, and I did the damage control.
Dr. Sujit was patiently listening while I was taking note of it.
Then he finally said it was your body’s way of expressing the turmoil, and in the case of autoimmune diseases, emotional health plays a major role in the regulation of disease.
Follow up after 1 month:
He came after a month, saying my patches started looking healthy, and the itching stopped. I am also feeling fresh. I started feeling better, stopped resenting the past, and was able to concentrate on my work and make good progress. Thank you, thank you, sir, for healing something that I never thought was the problem. For the rest, my skin is doing well. No new lesions.
After 3 months:
Scaling was reduced completely, and skin lesions on the legs and back started to heal and reduce in diameter.
Rolling up his sleeves, he showed that the small patches on the elbow, scalp, and ankle region had been reduced completely.
6 months later:
Larger lesions on the back and legs healed completely. He rolled up his pants and showed his healthy skin happily.
Homoeopathy doesn’t treat psoriatic “patches.”
It treats the person who developed the patches.
We focus on:
✔️ immune balance
✔️ genetic tendencies
✔️ emotional triggers
✔️ stress patterns
✔️ lifestyle aggravations
It is such a disease that a 360-degree approach is required, as gut and lifestyle play a major role.
Because the root cause is treated, not just the skin.
If your skin is telling you a story, just simply don’t ignore the loud cry of it.
Psoriasis is not just a flaw in the skin.
It is the body asking for help for healing at a deeper level.
